This lesson consisted of us splitting into smaller groups and develop and create material that we could use within our performance.
Our group focused on 'Quartet Contagion' and we decided to take some of the material we created in the 'death' response and develop this to link it to contagion and the plague.
The video is showing how the plague catches on. We have two people that are the plague itself and the other two people are trying to run away from it but it shows how the plague is controlling the other two people and it eventually catches on and everyone has the plague.
You can also see within the video the feedback we got given which included using more facial expressions and to slow down some of the movement to mark the moment.
Here is a developed version of this material where we have added in the rest of the company and we have looked at different ways that we can involve them such as having them represent the blood cells of the plague and then they join us to show that they have caught the plague.
We then moved on to develop each groups material.
This video here shows Matthew and Iyla's original material which is looking at entering the abbey/castle and it shows the characters dying and reacting to entering the place.
Here is the developed version of their piece. They have used the rest of the company to emphasise the idea of death. This video represents being dead on the inside but being too decadent to care about it.
This video here shows Hannah and Meera's video based on hidden identity and it is representing the angle and the devil.
You can see in this video that we have developed Hannah and Meera's piece. Due to them keeping it as a duet, we did this by letting them run through the piece and when one of us thought something could be developed we would stop them and help them develop the material.
